Golden rules to achieve success in writing university essay

Here are some golden rules for new essay writers. New writers can check their writings against it and use it as a reference before they submit their work.
  • Keep biasness in the paper to a least amount: It is good to give support to your writing by taking the help of various references. Keep yourself away from using the words such as ‘I’, ‘me’ and ‘you’. Always write in the third person form.
  • Watch out for the comprehensive statements: It is not recommended to make sweeping statements such as ‘it is a well known fact that….’ or ‘previous research has proved that…’ in an academic paper. Always utilize the current evidences that are based on facts.
  • The font size: The font size must be 12 with Times Roman or Arial. Use double spacing line options.
  • The paper must be in incessant prose: Stay away from using sub-headings and bullet points in the paper. These are written when the writing tends to be descriptive and you must argue about your own points.
  • Structure: The paper must have a specific structure which means it must have an introduction and conclusion at the beginning and at the end of the paper. These are not ought to be so long and only a small paragraph is enough with a main body in between them.
  • Paragraphs: The paragraphs should focus on one main point each time a new one is started. Whenever the topic is changed, it is mandatory for the writer to start a new paragraph.
  • Supporting substantiation from different sources: In order to give a balanced paper which also indicates your own awareness on the topic at least two distinct features of the issue must be discussed. A specific estimation or verdict can be given sometimes, but the writer should also demonstrate that he/she has utilized a critical approach. ‘Cut and paste’ of relevant information from the web is not allowed at all. It is advised to make your own points by stating the main point in your own words, then inculcate referenced evidence and also insert some examples from various sources and then by assessing the evidence give your opinion.

Quotations: The paper usually consists of some quotations, but it is good to use them carefully and only when really needed. At the end give your own assessment and explanation
